You really should have watched the video or read the transcript before writing your sour comment. The whole thing was renouncing the fake oil part.

If the Jews had not rescued the temple, there would have been no temple for Yeshua to be dedicated at in Like.

The things Yeshua did and said in John 7-10 say they were during the Feast of Tabernacles.
Why all of a sudden in John 10:22 is he back in Jerusalem for Hanukkah but nothing is mentioned between Sukkot and that? It is strange.
Did anyone consider Sukkot to be in Winter? I’m not sure.
He said he was the Light of the World at the time of the huge lights shining in the temple courts. Remember the young men had to climb up with oil to keep them going. People could see the lights from mikes away (according to Josephus).

If he did go back for Hanukkah, I have no problem with it but people say he was “celebrating” it. How? He may have walked among the temple area and remembered what transpired. Maybe he ate and laughed with groups of friends; we just don’t know.
I wish we could stop making up things and stick to what the Bible actually says.

As Nehemia pointed out and I discovered on my own, there is NO MENTION of any miracle of oil for 8 days (or even one) in the Books of the Macabbees. That was added by the rabbis some 200 years later.

Christians exchange the lies of Christmas for the fables of Hanukkah.

If you want to celebrate the great military victories and the cleansing and rededication of the Temple, feel free. That was a great thing in Israel’s history. Just wish we could stop perpetuating the fake oil miracle part.

Sorry but it just bothers me.

We should celebrate Christ’s conception – not his birth. This concept was reversed by Satan in his abortion issues in which the focus is on birth. The Supreme Court could not determine when life begins, but if something is growing from conception, life begins at conception. If it is growing, it is alive. Supreme Court is not too smart.

Christ was conceived at Hanukkah. Christ was born 9+ months later at the Feast of Tabernacles (John 1:9,14). His ministry was 490 days long (70 sevens- the concept of forgiveness) from Hanukkah until Pesach.

Hanukkah is the “Feast of Lights”. Christ came to fulfill the Torah law. Christ was conceived at Hanukkah as the real fulfillment of the pagan Christmas. Hanukkah 2:18-19 shows that on Hanukkah evening that YHVH asks whether “the seed is still in the barn”. This is a question of whether the “seed of the woman” is planted (a reference to the conception). From that day a blessing flows. This can be tied into the division of Abijah.

All my love to Rebekah and Isaac and return to God’s written word. I humbly propose that The Lord was in the temple on Hanukkah neither to celebrate nor protest the festival. He went there to save the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Just as He was in the temple on the eighth day water libation festival . Both non scriptural feasts. I believe the underlying theme of His preaching was to turn away from the shadows to the real meaning, which is Him. Col. 2:17- These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality however, is found in Christ. Also John 5:39 …These are the very scriptures that testify about Me.

I deeply appreciate your introduction to Teshuvah ministries as another entity in the “Hebrew roots” family of Truth-seekers. Rebecca’s ebullience was charming; I echo her thanks for your work all these years. I’d have liked to hear more from Isaac, but appreciate your efforts to bring out some good points/details on Hannukah.

Here’s a funny thing with Odin … family link on my Great-grandmothers side there is a guy with the name of Odin and his clan were called followers of Odin and considered themselves “children of Odin” or “children of God”… and are literally linked to Israel through the Kings of the Franks with a Lion and Stars of David all around…

It seems to me that the heart of a person who really loves Yehovah should be filled with joy. You affirm truth with so much love and joy.
