I understand your zeal to restore the Yah back into Yehovah, however being a descendant of Sephardi Levite stock I know that that first syllable isn’t even pronounced when saying the name in Spanish. The elders never pronounced a vowel sound there at all. It was always from Y directly to the H sound. Neither is the latter H sounded, but is curiously absent. I myself am restoring the latter H sound when I utter Yah’s name now in my songs and this is because my family during the time of the Spanish and Portuguese inquisitions removed the H from our name. This was a purposeful act to preserve our identity until later generations would return to Torah observance. The H means, to reveal or to point to something saying; behold, or look here. This Hey was removed in order to relay a message. That message relates to how in Spanish the name is spelled Jehová with an accent mark on the end. This is also significant since this should be spelled with the H showing, but curiously is not. The Latin form shows an H, but the Spanish remove the last H and the Portuguese remove both (Jeová), yet still using an accent on the end. This is because the majority of Spanish and Portuguese families were Levites. I am of Portuguese ancestry. Different cultures sound the A sound as and E and yet others the E as an A. For example as English speakers we say Adam, but other languages say Edom, yet it’s the same name. Eventually these technicalities and preferences will go away and we will all know the right way. In the mean time we need to continue to seek the truth and not brow beat each other with our personal preferences. Shalom

It mentions in Kjv about jehovah but that is verse 2 and in the Complete Jewish Bible states it is Adonai not Yeshua please quote what Bible actually states the word Yeshua before quoting a scripture

Yeshua is found in Isaiah meaning Yehovah saves his people!!

I am wondering if there is a Hebrew version of Revelation. I looked up the verse you referenced, I believe it is Revelation 1:8, “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Wow.

Regardless of how you spell it I keep hearing you say YAH o vah or YA ho vah. Not a “Jeh” or Yeh.

That’s an amazing and very revealing teaching. In English. I initially read the Bible in Spanish. From the Reina-Valera version in 1602 with multiple revisions up to the 1960 version, whenever the YHVH appears, it’s written as Jehova, with a typical Spanish “soft J” pronunciation. The Spanish editors interpret the name as “He that causes to be” in various tenses. Perhaps Spanish jewery has had a much stronger influence in its rendition.

It is very interesting that the Samaritans worshiped the God of No Name. This makes the story of Jesus and the Samaritan woman in John 4 more clear. In John 4: 20 she said “Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where one ought to worship.” In His response, Jesus said in John 4: 22, “You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews.” On the surface this sounds like a condescending and rude response. However, it does not look that way when we realize that the Samaritans worship the God of No Name. The Samaritan woman would probably not have been offended when Jesus said, “You worship what you do not know.” She probably would have agreed.

In the Old Testament it is always Yah. So if it isn’t Yaweh, strangely, why not Yahova claiming Yah to be restored in the pronounciation. Also pronouncing Yah is more like the sound of the wind and water. Which ialways has stand to be part of the Holy Character of God. I don’t know anything about (strong) concordance etc but if Hovah stands for something that isn’ t inspiring any goodness I feel that the “new” discovered name is like ying and yang, including bad in God. And God absolutely has NO darkness. So may the Peace of YAH keep us all who have faith, His Holy Spirit guide us to His Truth in Jesus Name. We will know instantly if we are called. Amen Aleluyah

I have not had a chance to really study the word
“Yaweh”, but the little bit I did discover left no doubt that Yahweh is an incorrect pronunciation of God’s name. I did come to see that it was the name of a pagan diety. Mr Gordon has done us true believers a great service by investigating the source of the word Yaweh and revealing the truth of the word. This should leave no doubt as to the correct pronunciation of God’s true name, Yehovah. Even in the KJV, it is obvious that “Yaweh” is not how you pronounce His name.
The fact that this travesty stems from one person’s erroneous conclusion is no suprise. We see the same thing with the word “Abba” Millions and millions of Evangelicals believe that Abba means “daddy” because all of the Pharisees in the pulpit teach this. Where did this lie come from?
A German named Joachim Jeremias, a Luthren Scholar, wrote in 1971 that “abba” was the chatter, babbling of a small child, trying to say “Daddy”. Even though his theory was thourghly debunked by all of the scholars and linguists of his day ( And he even recanted) it was so sappy that it quickly caught on, became popular and from then on all of the preachers taught/teach that abba means ” daddy”. While “abba” does mean daddy today, in the first century it did not.
The same with people being told that God’s love is ” unconditional”. You wont find in any dictionary, lexicon or any word study book that agape means “unconditional love.”
But because an stauch atheist psychologist, Erich Fromm coined the phrase in his book, The Art of Loving, published 1956, it soon caught on with the world of psychology. From there it caught on with the hippies. And then, the ” preachers” involved with the Jesus Movement figured out that the best way to get the hippies into the church buildings was to merely say that God’s love was unconditional, and, ta da, all of the Evangelicals today all believe and teach something created by an atheist.

Shalom Nehemiah, I live in Nottinghamshire England the name of our Church is called The Congregation of Yahweh, I have tried to tell them the True Name but they won’t listen which is frustrating, Yehovah’s Blessings.

20 years ago, I began learning Hebrew from “Biblical Hebrew Tutor CD-ROM Interactive Software Windows Parsons Technology.” The Name is shown on the screen with the same vowel points that Nehemiah has found in the manuscripts that he has studied and shown us. I sounded out the Name and said aloud “YeHoVaH,” but when I clicked on the word, the program’s voice said “Adonai.” At first I thought my CD-ROM disc had an error. That was when I first investigated and found that Jewish students are taught to say “Adonai” instead of actually saying the Name. MY POINT IS THAT THE VOWEL POINTS ARE NOT HIDDEN ON THIS CD ROM.
