Nate: There’s this whole thing where people are so terrified to go back, because you have to admit you’re wrong on something, and you always want to go forward. For me, going forward is just finding truth, and sometimes when you’re traveling, you get off in a ditch a little bit and you’ve got to pull yourself back on the road and get going again. So, I don't care if I have to change beliefs back and forth - I just have to find where the truth is and keep going for it.
Nehemia: Alright, I'm back here with Nate Petroski, who is a homesteader, and has a TikTok following, now, by the time you hear this it'll be 2.5 million probably, right now it’s 1.6 million. He's a Torah keeper, and what I love about him - you could see his heart in our last conversation - he's a truth-seeker, and that’s why I wanted to have a conversation with him. There's this great image, and you'll appreciate this because you were a contractor, right?
Nate: Right.
Nehemia: So, there’s this tunnel in Jerusalem, and it's an S-shaped tunnel through the earth, and it's actually mentioned in the Book of Isaiah. It's a water tunnel that drew the water from the Gihon Spring, the main spring in Jerusalem, into the city, so that when the Assyrians invaded, they would have water inside the city. And then they capped the spring so that the Assyrians didn't even know where it was.
Nate: Got you.
Nehemia: They had to dig through the solid earth in a very short period of time, they probably had a few months, and so they went in two different directions, and they somehow met in the middle - nobody knows how they did it. But one of the things you see in the tunnel - because you can walk through this tunnel today, it's called Hezekiah’s Tunnel, because he commissioned it – you walk through the tunnel, and there’s water up to your knees, sometimes it's up to your waist, depending on if they had droughts. You're walking through the tunnel, and you see the tunnel goes another three or four feet, and then reaches a dead end and then goes off in its real direction to the left, or the right depending on which way you're going from - usually you're walking where it's off to the left. That's called a false start, archaeologists call that a false start, because they were digging, and they were digging and digging, and they got to a certain point and they realized, “Wait, we’re off course.” So, they back up three or four feet - and they're doing this with little iron chisels, in the dark, with oil lamps, burning olive oil in the dark and the dust. And so they went back a few feet and they just kept digging in the right direction. And I think in my experience, my walk with the Creator, there's a lot of false starts.
Nate: Yeah.

I very much enjoyed this episode. We have the same view on truth, testing and questioning every single day. I don’t care if I’m wrong, I want to know what is right so that I can do that. Amazing to me how many people I am coming across thanks to Nehemia who also feel his way.
Certain doctrines and theology do not welcome questions. They are designed to provide conformity. and as such don’t value the individual as a unique and specific creation. You must fit the mold or be rejected. Your ability to move with the Ruach is very affirming to many who have been released from the prison of conformity. Thank you.

It is very interesting trying to find a congregation that actually keeps in line with scripture. The irony on one hand, that Christians criticize Jews for adding to the law… the law that they consider entirely abolished except to ‘love your neighbor.’ And on the other hand the irony of Jews who criticize Christians for saying the law is abolished, yet have added written volumes of oral tradition that they give more honor to than the tenach!
Both have access to Deut 12:32, where we are commanded no not add to nor diminsh the law.
In Revelation 22:18-19, it goes further to state that if you add to the law, the plagues of this book will be added to you, and if you take away from it, your ‘part’ will be taken out of the Book of Life.
And that, Nehemia, could be the single greatest issue that makes many ‘messianic believers’ enjoy your podcasts.
I am not taking about those off on ‘sacred name’ or other radical tangents. There is a growing group, (like those with OCD… lol) that take Yah’s commands very seriously, (especially when alternatives include plagues or having our part taken out of His Book of Life) and we want truth.
Like you, Nehemia, who don’t want oral law traditions, we are very excited to have you show us from ancient manuscripts, which we would never have had access to. We sincerely appreciate all you do, and nope… not tired of hearing from you. Baruch haYah! Shalom!
Nehemiah, Have you ever studied out the Priesthood or Order of Melchizedek, the priesthood that is greater than the Levitical?
Nehemia, you mentioned the term soul sleep. Do you have any teachings you could point me to where you discuss that idea?

If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him and he with Me.” (Revelation 3:20) Was it Elijah that you saw at Passover when you were 8 years old, Nehemiah, or could you have unknowingly closed the door on Yeshua? Perhaps the parable of the tunnel will inspire you to back up and revisit your miraculous experience. I love you, brother.
Wisdom lesson of the day, ” You must be wrong to be right”. To be able to see error in yourself, and continue not in error.
Parable of the Tunnel- so true! So often in the Christianities I’ve experienced, questions are considered doubts. Adherents of the faiths are expected to believe every tenet of the published “statement of faith” of that sect. If you don’t, go find you another faith!
