Nehemia Gordon's search for answers leads him to uncover an age-old conspiracy of silence surrounding the Priestly Blessing. In the Book of Numbers, God taught the Sons of Aaron a three-line blessing to proclaim over His people. At the end of this blessing, God promised, “they shall place My name on the children of Israel and I will bless them” (Numbers 6:27). Generations of scribes, rabbis, and priests colluded to keep a key part of the Priestly Blessing secret. Centuries of religious agendas and tradition obscured its meaning. Join maverick Bible scholar Nehemia Gordon as he leaves no stone unturned in search of the truth. The clues take him from the peak of Mount Sinai to the battlefields of the Yom Kippur War. Find out what he discovered on 9/11 and venture with him down into the literal “pit of hell.”

I wish to congratulate you on this amazing and enlightening book stated above which I have just finished reading. I am of mixed race decent from Southern Africa but now resident in the UK. My late father Beniamin, Leibe Kaganoviku commonly known as Benne Leve Cohen was originally from Lithuania but settled in Southern Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) in and around 1937 as a naturalised British citizen. His father was a Rabbi and wanted my father to continue with the rabbinical priesthood but he obviously had other plans. My mother is of the Ndebele tribe in Zimbabwe and speaks and reads both Zulu and Ndebele languages which are closely related. My reason for revealing this to you is with regards to Gods name which you have so eloquently in your UTube blogs and aptly revealed to be Yehovah. I first came across the name, written / spelled Jehova in Zulu, in my mothers Zulu bible in and around 1966/7, I was only 13 years of age then. My life has since taken me in different directions. My father never discussed Judaism with us, we were Catholics at that time, my mother’s religion. Sometime around 1972 my mother resigned from the Catholic church and was converted becoming one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

My wife and I were both Catholics and in 1978/79 we started to investigate Christianity and were intrigued by the beliefs of Jehovah’s Witnesses. We eventually after much discussion, one and a half years in fact, became Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1980. We were convinced that this was the truly restored Christian faith and belief system of the early Christians. One aspects of their beliefs were most attractive was the publicising and restoration of God’s name

1) Their reverence for Gods name (Jehovah in English) which they identified themselves by in 1931 and have preached it throughout the globe for some 125 years to date against much opposition and negative propaganda. They are presently translators and publishers of bibles in various languages at a phenomenal rate, bibles that have restored Gods name in its rightful place in over 7000 plus times. (Exodus 3:15.) Its worth mentioning here that back then most Black indigenous peoples of South Africa, the Zulus in particular and the Ndebele in Zimbabwe used Gods name freely and openly. However I noted that English King James Bible which English speaking folks used had practically obliterated Gods name replacing it with the titles LORD and GOD spelled in capital letters.

Your book has clearly proved to me that the English pronunciation Jehovah instead of Yahweh is certainly correct.

Dear Mr. Gordon, I have just finished studying your precious book which has answered a long personal expectation, as I have always had a great reverence for the Name of the Creator together with much interest in the search for its real pronunciation. What is more, your study provides a thorough insight and an honest evaluation into the Tradition relating to this important subject. And last but not least, your friendship and your fruitful collaboration with Mr. Keith Johnson recreate in our 21st century the ideal of tolerance and mutual esteem incarnate 400 years ago, in a time of pogroms and inquisitorial persecutions, by two of your forerunners : Menasseh ben Israel (Manuel Dias Soeiro) and Pierre Serrurier (Petrus Serrarius). Please accept the expression of my deepest gratitude for your necessary and long-awaited work. Stéphane, Lausanne (Switzerland), February 6th, 2017.
