The Name of God with Nehemia Gordon (Open Door Series – Part 3)

In Part 3 of the Open Door Series, Nehemia Gordon explains how the name of God, sacred to both Jews and Christians, has become hidden by time and tradition. Beginning with Roman persecution forbidding Jews to speak the name through rabbinical adaptations, translation errors and other misunderstandings, the one and only name of the Lord was superseded over time by titles—like “El Shaddai,” or “Adonai”. As the exiles of Israel and the others joined with them to return to the Promised Land, the name of the Lord Yehovah is again being sanctified and exalted.

Would you be so kind as to provide the source(s) used that show how His Name was made illegal in the Hadriatic Persecutions, and that this is one of the reasons for the martyrdom of Ben Teradion? I have been unable to corroborate this information. I greatly appreciate your efforts!

That’s great that God’s unique Name is getting out. It was He who raised Yeshua to life after he paid the debt sin held over us and who sits ant the right hand of Jehova who is putting all this under his feet.

Due to Roman bans and persecutions, rabbinical adaptations, translation errors and other misunderstandings, the one and only name of the Lord was summarily replaced with titles—like “El Shaddai,” or “Adonai”. As the exiles of Israel and the others joined with them return to the land, the name of the Lord Yehovah will again be sanctified and exalted.

Don’t these verses allow for ‘foreigners / Gentiles / pagans’ to join Biblical Israel?:

“Also the sons of the foreigner who join themselves to the LORD, to serve Him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be His servants – everyone who keeps from defiling the Sabbath, and holds fast My Covenant”. (Isaiah 56:6)

Numbers 15:15 As for the congregation, there shall be one statute both for you, and for the stranger that sojourneth with you, a statute for ever throughout your generations; as ye are, so shall the stranger be before the LORD.
Numbers 15:16 One law and one ordinance shall be both for you, and for the stranger that sojourneth with you.

And can’t this include women too?
